Beyond Reach Labs, Inc. was founded by Mitchell Fogelson during his Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University. Through a NASA NIAC grant, he and his collaborators tackled the challenge of deploying kilometer-scale space structures from a single rocket launch. This research led to the invention of Pop-Up Extending Trusses (PETS) and Hierarchical High-Expansion Ratio Deployable Structures (HERDS)—the foundation of the company’s technology today. Beyond Reach Labs is committed to advancing deployable solutions for rapid-response communication and monitoring for events, defense, disaster relief and more.
